He was very fortunate to begin his studies of yoga in the Iyengar tradition with his brother Pujari and with Mary Dunn, one of Mr. Iyengars Sr. teachers.
He has travelled to India 4 times to study with the Iyengars and has been a certified Iyengar teacher since Mr. Iyengar established teacher certification requirements. He presently holds a Jr. Intermediate level certificate.
Aman has also studied and practiced meditation since 1983. The past seven years he has worked with Charlotte Joko Beck at the San Diego Zen Center, who has been a great inspiration in understanding what practice is.
Combining yoga and meditation practices, Aman has been leading silent and yoga 3 5 day retreats in and out of the San Diego area for the past ten years. These retreats have been offered twice a year with Aman doing the teaching and Sunny the vegetarian cooking.
It is Amans wish that through his practices and experience he can be of some help to others on their path.
